THE CAFE

Tarallucci e Vino Bakery was born in 2001 out of Luca Di Pietro and Pepi Di Giacomo frustration at not being able to find well made, classically prepared Italian coffee and pastries. Since opening its doors, the Bakery has become an institution in the East Village for the best of simple, authentic Italian breakfast:cappuccino, espresso and homemade pastries, all rigorously hand-made and baked on the premises without cutting corners!

As an example, the preparation of a traditional croissant is done over the course of three days. This isn’t easy, or efficient, but the quality of the end product makes it all worthwhile. Staying true to the Italian tradition for a quick lunch, we serve our delicious Panini and Desserts.

Tarallucci e Vino is the perfect place to end the day with a great selection of small plates, cheeses and wines.

On warm days, the beautiful outdoor cafĂ©’ offers great people watching in one of New York’s most characteristic neighborhoods.
